I fear for our country.

Even if you think him to be a despicable person, there is no excuse for the indictment of former President Donald Trump on charges evidently based on the assertion that he paid hush-money to a prostitute in 2015 or 2016. Unless much more serious charges are revealed, this is an instance of prosecutoral malfeasance of the worst sort. Moreover, it is an assault on our democracy. Any honest, unbiased judge would dismiss the case outright. Unfortunately, the prosecutor managed to set the stage before a Trump hating judge who will be working with an overwhelmingly partisan jury pool.

At this time Trump is the leading Republican candidate for the 2024 Presidential election.

Be they Democrat or Republican, citizens who value the integrity of our legal system should speak out against this travesty.
