Thoughts About Congress

We like to make jokes about Congress.  It has been the butt of ridicule for a long, long time.  For example, I believe it was Mark Twain who wrote “There is no distinctively native American criminal class except Congress.”  And it may have been Will Rogers who once said, “Now and then an innocent man is sent to the legislature.”

The Congress in session right now isn’t even funny.  It’s tragic.

As for the office of President of the United States, I recently told some of my friends that I had considered running for that position; however, after observing the conduct of the current officeholder, I fear I may be considered overqualified.

It’s a sad time for America.
