How Could We?

According to a news report on Monday,  Democrat Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (NY) attacked Trump supporters over the weekend during a community meeting with New York State assembly member Rebecca Seawright.

Schumer said, “You probably ask yourself the same question I ask myself: How could 74 million people vote for such a despicable human being as Donald Trump.  He is a vile man. He is dishonest. He is divisive — That’s what he loves to do, just divide people.”

Schumer added, “He’s a racist and he always appeals to the dark side of human nature, which he’s very good at, unfortunately. How did they vote for him?”

As a person who voted for Trump, I believe I can give Schumer an answer.  As bad as Trump and the Republican Party may be (and I believe Schumer exaggerates Trump’s faults), the Democrat Party and its leadership is much worse. Also, I generally approved President Trump’s policies.

In the old days I bragged about being above party politics and insisted that I always tried to vote for the best man.  That is no longer true.  Today’s Democrat Party has become thoroughly anti-Christian in its approach to social issues, and their actions on that front have divided our people even more than Trump’s admittedly abrasive persona.  Also, their wild domestic spending combined with a weak-kneed approach to foreign relations and national defense threatens to drive our nation over the proverbial cliff.

I will never vote for a Democrat again unless the candidate condemns present party leadership and advocates complete reform and renewal.

  1. Are you just NOW catching onto the idiocy coming out of the mouths of MANY of the Democrats? And the completely failure of the rest of the Democratic Party to condemn it? Personally i’ve been fed up with many of the Republicans for years and I have considered leaving that party but then someone like Chuckie Schumer, or AOC or Nutty Pelousy opens their mouth and that’s enough to convince me to keep supporting the Republicans.
