The Biden Administration makes no secret of its hostility towards the fossil fuel industry.  As part of its war against climate change, it has pursued number of aggressive moves against coal and oil producers.  For instance, immediately upon assuming office Biden shut down work on the Keystone XL pipeline.  Sometimes, the government’s green crusaders get a bit of unexpected help from an outside source.

The largest US refinery closed two crude processing units in Port Arthur, Texas, last weekend after hackers caused the Colonial Pipeline to shut down. According to the FBI, the “DarkSide” hacker gang began attacking the pipeline operator on Friday and caused the interruption.  Colonial supplies an estimated 45% of the U.S, East Coast’s supply of petrol, diesel, and jet fuel.

DarkSide is a cyber-criminal gang that demands ransom money from those organizations it attacks.

Now there are long lines and gas shortages being reported in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida

The governors of North Carolina and Florida have declared a gas shortage emergency.

Gas prices have reached a national average of $3.00 a gallon, the highest in six years.
