It’s obvious that President Trump wishes to end the Iranian conflict as quickly as possible. It has gone on longer rhan he wished and it interferes with his MAGA program. Unfortunately, Itan’s fractured leadership makes a negotiated peace very difficult to attain. Despite our overwhelming military dominance, The IRGC wishes to continue the fight, and they are the ones with the guns. The best possible outcome would be for the Iranian people to rise up and overthrow the despots, but perhaps they do not have the leadership or the weapons to succeed. .Under present circumstances, our only choice may be to hit Iran again and again when they attempt to resurrect their nuclear and long-range missile programs. At the same time, we must ensure that the Strait of Hormuz remains open for commercial traffic. I’m convinced that can do this without severe financial strain even as the President continues his drive to move us toward America’s golden economic age.
A few observations:
- Many critics attack Trump for initiating the conflict with Iran, but I applaud him for his brave move. A nuclear armed Iran, led by Islamic extremists who profess their willingness to die in a quest to slay unbelievers in the name of Allah, would have been an intolerable threat to world peace. Americans and Jews were at the top of their slay list. Iran had been in a low-grade conflict with the United States for almost fifty years.
- The burden of our Iranian involvement should lessen during the coming months. Nations are finding new routes to move oil from the Middle East and new sources for their energy needs. Soon, ensuring that the Strait of Hormuz remains open will no longer be necessary, and military strikes on Iran’s military facilities will become less frequent. Meantime, the economic pressure on Iran will continue, and perhaps its leadership will finally come to terms.
- Trump will find ways to make other nations help pay our Iranian campaign expenses. He’s a businessman, not a philanthropist. He can point out that he acted for the benefit of all mankind, especially western Europe and the rich nations of the Middle East.
