President Trump is fighting hard to reform America’s election laws.  The Democrats claim that Trump is offering a solution in search of a problem, and that voter fraud is rare and has little or no effect on election outcomes. They also say that requiring voter ID, proof of citizenship, etc. would discriminate against non-white voters.

I believe the Democrats are wrong. Fair and honest elections are essential to a representative Democracy, and despite Democrat Party denials, election fraud and skullduggery were rampant in the 2020 election, somewhat less so in 2024.  There is also the continuing threat of foreign interference. The President’s suggested reforms appear reasonable and just and do not discriminate along racial lines.  The great majority of Americans appear to favor then, and enactment would do much to restore confidence in our Democratic institutions.  I urge Congress to put the President’s proposals into law.
