President Trump has stepped in it again. He has called down the wrath and indignation of both Democrats and Republicans for his recent portrayal of Barack Obama and Michelle as apes. It occurred in a political meme appearing on Truth Social, and immediately there were cries of racism.

This morning, February 7, I had an opportunity to see the meme. I think charges of racism are overstated. True, the Obamas were pictured as apes, but Hillary Clinton was a warthog. Which is worse? As always, I find Donald Trump to be an equal opportunity insulter. Race or gender are of no consequence to him.

Of course, the meme pictures Trump as a triumphant lion. All the other animals bow down before him.

It’s vintage Trump. He has mastered the art of offending people. I’m often disturbed by the Presidents pettiness; but the central question is whether you support Trump administration policies, or do you favor the nihilistic opposition? All else is relatively inconsequential..
