Reunion at Blowing Rock

On the 23rd to 25th of August our family gathered for a brief reunion at Blowing Rock, North Carolina.  It was a wonderful time for me, and I hope that everyone there enjoyed it as much as I did.  A few had to bow out at the last minute, but I believe the total attendance topped sixty people.

On Friday evening more than forty of us travelled a few miles to Boone for a grand American style meal at the famous Daniel Boone Restaurant.  It was delicious, and the fellowship was even better.

On Saturday night the entire family gathered for a catered feast at the Meadowbrook Inn, the place where most of us were staying.  It was a sumptuous meal, and afterwards various members of the family entertained us with songs, skits, etc.  What a delightful evening!  We only wished it could have lasted longer.  At gatherings like this, you want to spend lots of time with all these wonderful people, but numbers and circumstances limit your interactions.

On Sunday morning we said goodbye and began to wend our ways toward our homes.

Aloha, shalom and au revoir, dear family.  I hope to see you again.

  1. I see you, the patriarch, right there in the front. What a wonderful reunion group. And I must say I love the mountains of NC.

      1. After all these years I could recognize you in a crowd!! Very Good…

I am fearful our country is headed in a disastrous direction. Our government is out of control and those who are running it are ruthless enemies.

Enjoy reading your blogs. Keep up your good work.

I have recently adopted two very abused cats from animal shelter. They are not related but were in same area when I went to look for a needy cat. Female, I named Bonnie, and male, black and white, Clyde. Isn’t that precious????

My health seems stable. I continue to usher at theatre, and classical music events, Drive about town in my Mercedes and enjoy wine drinking friends!
