Jesus truly understands the hearts of men.  All of us are weak.  All of us are sinners.  As it is written, “There is no one righteous, not even one.”

God gave us His commandments and statutes through Moses and the prophets, but who among us can truthfully say that he or she is innocent of violations.  We frequently stumble and fall, and even when we outwardly obey God’s laws, we are often guilty of transgressions in our hearts.

Unless we are totally corrupt, we are keenly aware of our sins.  The memory of our failures weighs upon our hearts, and the burden causes us distress.

Jesus offers us the balm of forgiveness.  No matter our sin, the Lord Jesus is ready to assume our guilt.  He took the punishment for that sin on the cross.  Turn to Him and be set truly free.
