I thank God for the Church and for Christian fellowship. I had the good fortune of being born in a loving, Christ centered home, and I have been faithful in attending church for most of my life. For the past 42 years I have been a member of the Bishop Cummins Reformed Episcopal Church in Catonsville, Maryland.
Bishop Cummins, a wonderful church, was named for the founder of the Reformed Episcopal denomination. The people of Bishop Cummins come from a variety of backgrounds: Anglican , Roman Catholic, Methodist, Pentecostal, Presbyterian, Baptist, Episcopalian, Orthodox, unchurched, et al. Most of us were drawn to this church by the Christian love we experience here and the Word of God that is proclaimed here. Bishop Cummins Church is the very opposite of being exclusive in belief and practice, though the Bible is always faithfully preached from the pulpit. The worship services are liturgical but not overly formal, and all those who profess Christ are welcome to our communion table. Love is the watchword.
Over the years I have come to know many Christian saints who sanctified this place by their presence. Their lives were an inspiration and a testimony to their faith. And I continue to enjoy the love and support of the brothers and sisters who still worship with me here.
God bless you and thank you, my friends. I love you.
And thank you, Lord.
