Are you feeling big and self-important? Perhaps it is time for you to consider your position in the grand scheme of things.
The image above is a star size comparison chart. The sun, in the lower left, is almost invisible, and Antares is far from being the largest star yet discovered. That distinction currently lies with VY Canis Majoris or UY Scuti, each having a radius more than twice that of Antares. Planet Earth is a mere speck in the cosmos, far too small to show on this star chart.
Our galaxy, the Milky Way, is believed to contain more than a hundred billion stars and countless planetary bodies. And the Milky Way is one of over a hundred billion galaxies, each also containing hundreds of billions of stars.
Think about that for a moment.
When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them? Psalm 8:3-4
