STATE OF THE UNION – 2026

President Trump delivered the State of the Union message last night. I thought it to be an excellent speech, not a great speech. To me it appeared a bit too calculated and contrived to pump up my emotions, but he kept me awake (quite an accmplishment for one of my age), and he continued to boost ideas and programs that have my unstinting support.

The Democrats sat on their hands and were made to appear as churlish, unpatriotic idiots. When are they to develop some real leaders? When will they offer logical and palatable alternatives to Republican initiatives? As for now, I cannot imagine myself voting for a Democratic Party candidate.

May God protect our President.

May God bless the USA.

  1. I still think that the communication that a large number of people are receiving is a danger to the nation. The news delivered by certain media is often misleading and sometimes totally inaccurate. Why this is done, I am not totally sure. Why a large portion of the population can not or will not recognize the falsehoods, I am not sure, but I find it scary. The certainty with which these people respond is baffling to me. They will not even allow for discussion claiming that there is a personality defect in the conservative person that invalidates their arguments. That, I believe, is what Charlie Kirk was trying to generate, a venue with open discussion, when he was assassinated.
