As the dust settles following Tulsi Gabbard’s explosive charges against Obama and his intelligence operatives, I offer my own thoughts about what is going on.:
0 – Several Republicans have said there is very little new information in Gabbard’s revelations, and their major significance is that she may have provided more documentary proof. There is much truth in this. Gabbard’s quoted extensively from a declassified September 2020 House Intelligence Committee report that debunked the Russia-Trump collusion story. The Democrat controlled House classified this report and sat on it for the past several years.
0 – Some Democrat commentators insist that Gabbard produced a nothingburger, and the fact that Russia interfered in the 2016 Presidential campaign is beyond dispute. They say the interference was to elect Trump. Republicans agree that Russia interfered, but they say that the interference was for the purpose of disruption, not to pick a winner. There is evidence is that Putin disliked Clinton, distrusted Trump, and favored neither. Like everyone else, the Russians believed that Clinton would win. Gabbard points out that the Russians had acquired some very derogatory information about Clinton, and if they thought it would lead to a Trump victory they could have released it, but they didn’t. Regardless of Russian motives, their interference had very little effect on the outcome of the 2016 election.
0 – A few thoughtful observers question the effect of Gabbard’s charges and the wisdom of making them. The Democrat’s Russia collusion hoax was immoral and unethical, but was it illegal? If illegal, what about the statute of limitations? Most believe that recent Supreme Court decisions will protect Obama from prosecution, so why revisit this sordid ten-year-old mess? The problems of this day are sufficient. Let’s concentrate on them and leave the past to historians.
0 – For myself, I favor exposure. I witnessed how these false charges against Trump tore the country apart. Reputations were destroyed, innocent people suffered legal harassment, and lives were ruined. High ranking political figures like Adam Schiff uttered lie after lie, and there was no honest mainstream television reporter to confront him. The American public lost its confidence in governmental institutions and the media. I, along with others, cried out for TRUTH, but we didn’t know where to find it. Gabbard’s charges may not lead to criminal convictions, but perhaps they will provide us the details of what really happened, expose the political and journalistic skullduggery, and help us guard against this type of duplicitous and destructive fraud being perpetrated on the American body politic ever again.
