I watched the recent interview of Elon Musk and the DOGE team leaders on Fox news. I was impressed. I urge each of you to see it.

The team leaders are all highly qualified businessmen with records of success. Most of them are very wealthy. They don’t need this job. They are volunteering their services because of a love of country and their belief that the nation faces economic disaster unless we get federal spending under control.

The DOGE aim is to reduce annual government spending by at least 1 trillion dollars. They plan to do this without harm to essential government functions through eleminating waste, redundancy and fraud while improving efficiency. It’s a herculean task, but they hope to have achieved this goal by the end of May. More power to them!

The team admits that it has made some mistakes but insists that they are quickly corrected. They believe their overall batting average to be quite high. As Musk says, the only way to avoid mistakes is to do nothing, and that would be the worst mistake of all. Without action, the nation is headed for a fiscal crisis of unprecedented magnitude.

Unfortunately, the Democrat Party leadership offers nothing but criticism. They attack Musk and attempt to destroy him and his businesses. What mean- spirited pettiness! They resurrect false charges that the Republicans are trying to destroy Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. What nonsense! Please, Democrats, help in the attempt to restore solvency. Put your country ahead of party.
