Christianity Under Attack

Christians and Christianity are being attacked in many parts of the world. We have long been aware of the dangers Christians face in some Muslim nations. There is no religious freedom in those places, yet we in the West allow Muslims to freely practice their faith in our own lands. Perhaps we should insist on equal treatment.

But the anti-Christian problem is spreading. In Europe some governments are putting pressure on Christians to muzzle their faith to avoid giving offense to members of the LGBT community. Legislators and officials even go so far as to label parts of the Bible as hate speech and censor the expression of traditional Christian positions on subjects like marriage and family.

The recent Olympic ceremonies illustrate the hatred and disdain of leftist progressives for Christianity. The organizing committee allowed a profane exhibition that was deeply offensive to people of faith. If they had allowed a similar attack on the followers of Muhammed, I have no doubt that the city of Paris would be in flames. As it is, I am expressing my displeasure in the only ways available to me — writing this blog and refusing to watch the Olympic games. Perhaps that is a useless way to protest, but it makes me feel better.

Wake up, followers of Christ. our faith is under attack.

  1. It always has been

There has always been more that walk in darkness and hate those that walk in the light. I have personally experienced it for over forty years.

As pertaining to the Muslims no one has treated me with as much respect as they have. Most Muslims and Christians get along very well, it is politics that causes the trouble.

    1. I’m aware that many Muslims treat other peoples of the book (Christians and Jews) with respect, but in certain Muslim states Christian churches and Jewish synagoges are frequently attacked,, and heaven help the soul who converts from the Muslim faith to Christianity.
