In the wake of Trump assassination attempt cries of conspiracy ring out from right and left.

Some right-wing commentators are making inflammatory charges.  They say things like:

• There was more than one gunman.

• The Secret Service deliberately withheld resources from the Trump rally in order to cover an event involving Jill Biden.

• The Soros family may have been behind the assassination attempt.

Left wing commentators have their own wild statements:

• The assassination attempt may have been a sham, and Trump faked his injuries.

• The shooter’s miss was regrettable.  Trump claim that God protected him was ludicrous.

Charges of conspiracy and cover-up will continue to explode until there is a careful and complete examination and explanation of what happened in Butler, Pennsylvania on the afternoon of July 13.  It’s obvious that things went terribly wrong.  Either there was gross incompetence, or adequate protection may have been deliberately withheld.  Let’s pray it’s not  more than that.  If this was part of organized effort to kill Trump, the plotters will surely try again.

Unfortunately, many people will not believe any information put forth by Federal authorities.  They no longer trust them.
