Trump’s the Man

As those of you who read my blog know, I have often been critical of Donald Trump.  I am aware that he has many warts.  I have been particularly concerned by his sometimes bullying behavior and apparent lack of magnanimity in dealing with his critics and political opposition. I supported his candidacy for the Presidency in 2016 and 2020 chiefly because he appeared to be the best of two bad choices.

I have changed my mind.

I enthusiastically support Trump for President in 2024, and I pray for his success.  Let me tell you why.

Trump’s political opponents are destroying our country.  The progressives have taken over the Democrat Party, and they promote a globalistic, anti-Christian, non-tradititional view of our society. They are allowing millions of unvetted and culturally different people to pour across our borders. The nation is under severe stress. Only Trump has the clarity of vision, the courage, and the physical stamina to possibly turn things around.  It will be a Herculean task, and I see no one else with the strength necessary for success.

Trump has been in the progressive’s crosshairs from the moment he stepped into the political arena in 2015.  His enemies have attempted to destroy him in every possible way, fair or foul.  He was hit with fake charges of Russian collusion. When these charges were dismissed because of the lack of evidence, he was improperly impeached by a Democrat-led House on two occasions, only to be acquitted by the Senate. Rightly or wrongly, he believed he was cheated out of victory in the 2020 election, he and was damned and ridiculed for holding to that conviction. He then became the first former President to have his residence raided by the FBI, and finally, he had to endure a series of unfair and legally questionable lawsuits in state and federal courts. These lawsuits have been extremely costly and time consuming, but Trump appears to emerge from every ordeal with renewed energy and determination.

Trump’s strength, maturity and character seem to be growing under these attacks.  He performs prodigies of travel and speechmaking that would exhaust many much younger men.  Recently he appears more restrained in attacks against his political opponents.  Despite the lawfare against him and justifiable thoughts of retribution, he has indicated his desire to bring this banana-state sort of conduct to an end.  He says that success will be his revenge against his persecutors..

Trump proved an ability to govern well during his firs time as President.  With that experience, along with the backing of a Republican controlled Senate and House, he may be able to perform wonders during a second term in office.  I hope so.  The nation and the world need him.

Trump’s the man.
