Thoughts About 2024

I believe that it is imperative that the Republicans win the 2024 Presidential election and then win both the Senate and the House. The radical left dominates the Democratic Party, and the thought of four more years of those people in control is too horrible to contemplate. They are destroying the country.

Unfortunately, the Republicans are seriously divided.

Most of them agree that President Trump did excellent work during his first three years in office. The nation’s economy was booming, and our relationships with foreign friends and adversaries alike appeared to be going in the right direction. Unfortunately, the Covid crisis disrupted everything, and along with that came the civil unrest following the George Floyd incident. As a result, Trump became very vulnerable in 2020.

Many Republicans do not wish to see Trump as their candidate in 2024. There are three grounds for opposition to his candidacy. First, there are those never-Trump members of the Republican establishment who regard him as a faux conservative with whom they have profound philosophical and political differences. Second, there are Republicans who have been so offended by Trump’s pettiness and provocative statements that they cannot bring themselves to support him. Third, there are those Republicans who fear that Trump cannot win a general election. Of course, there is some overlap among these three groups of Trump opponents..

Regardless of this serious opposition, Trump is likely to be the Republican Presidential candidate in our next election. His base of support dwarfs that of any other contender; and unless some sort of debilitation or disablement should prevent his candidacy, it appears certain that he will receive the nomination

If Biden is re-nominated by the Democrats, I feel certain that Trump will win the general election. Biden’s senile incompetence is now obvious to almost everyone. But I cannot believe that the Democrats will be stupid enough to back Biden again. With another candidate they would have a much better chance of prevailing. Unfortunately, I cannot think of one person with a chance of being nominated by the Democrats that I could support. The party has succumbed to anti-Christian wokism, and Democratic Party leadership has been infected from top to bottom. That fact makes me very sad and apprehensive.

May the good Lord preserve us.
