Over the past decade or so I noticed that people are getting taller.  I once thought of myself as being slightly above average in height, but now I am looking up to almost everyone.  Three of my granddaughters are taller than me, and I began wondering about my great grandchildren.  Are we becoming a race of giants?

Last week I went to my doctor’s office and got a partial explanation.  I was measured as five feet six and a half inches tall.  During my college and army years I was five ten.

Many years ago I read a story entitled “The Incredible Shrinking Man.”  Now I know how he felt.
