Late yesterday we returned from Junaluska and our family reunion. According to my son Harold’s headcount, there were 49 of us, and a good number were children. That bodes well for the future.
I believe everyone had a good time. We had family from North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, Nevada, Colorado, Oregon, and Canada. There was lots of mixing, conversation, and plain old fellowship. I hope others enjoyed it as much as I did.
I felt a bit sorry for our Junaluska hosts. The accommodations were fine, but we could tell that they were understaffed. They are just recovering from Covid, and the number of guests was down. It is a wonderful facility, and I pray that they get through this difficult period okay.
It is my hope that we can have another family reunion three years from now – or even sooner if people should wish it. Junaluska has many advantages for this sort of affair, but next time we may consider a different location. Perhaps a beach resort, Nashville, or some other place. We would appreciate suggestions.
In the meantime, I want all of you to know how much I love you. Please, if you can, visit me at my home. You are always welcome.
Families are special, and God blessed us with a wonderful one.
