President Briden’s disability has become increasingly obvious. It is painful to watch him in his public appearances. Never a person of great honesty and intellect, Biden shows increasing signs of serious cognitive decline. As things stand at this moment, it is hard to understand how Democrat Party leaders could allow him to stand as their […]
Hunter Biden was found guilty of gun charges in Delaware. The evidence was overwhelming, and the jury made the correct decision. I was concerned that a hometown jury might fail to convict Hunter, and I was pleased that, in this instance, the system worked. The chief prosecutor appeared very reluctant to prosecute him until he […]
This blog post is in response to a recent opinion piece by David French in the New York Times. French describes himself as an Southern-born evangelical Protestant. I identify myself likewise, and I’m certain that he and I must agree on many things. However, I strongly disagree with many of his statements in this article. […]
This morning my thoughts turned to memories of my childhood and some of my weird misperceptions of that time. As a very young child, I would often visit my next door neighbor, Mrs. Cheek, sit in a kitchen chair, munch biscuits, and watch her big coffee percolator at work. As jets of coffee appeared in […]
(I extracted much of the following from a recent article by Cal Thomas. It should be read by every American who is concerned about our system of justice and the recent Trump trial.) In 1940 United States Attorney General Robert H. Jackson addressed the country’s chief federal prosecutors and U.S. Attorneys. Among other remarks, he […]

In our men’s forum this morning (May 30) I stirred the pot by provoking a discussion on the relative merits of Joseph Biden and Donald Trump. Not many favorable things were said about Biden, but Trump was thoroughly eviscerated. Intense dislike for the man radiated from every corner of the room. This is a group […]
I just learned that Trump was found guilty on all counts in the New York hush money trial. I am terribly disappointed. I was hoping that at least one juror would recognize the injustice of these charges and stand up against the pressure to convict. I am sad for my country.
In a New York Times Memorial Day opinion piece, Phil Klay wrote the following. “How do you memorialize the dead of a failed war? At Arlington, it’s easy to let your heart swell with pride as you pass certain graves. Here are the heroes that ended slavery. Here are the patriots who defeated fascism. We […]
This is Memorial Day, a special day set aside to remember and honor U.S. military personnel who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Over the 248 years of our nation’s existence hundreds of thousands of men and women have made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our nation’s freedom. Here I pay tribute […]
