Trump strode into the economic forum at Davos, Switzerland, like a braggadocios conquering hero. They regarded him with the same sort of awe and fear that they would have regarded a modern Genghis Khan.  But Trump’s weapon was not military, it was economic.  He used the United States’ economic power and the threat of tariffs in the way Genghis might have used his Mongol armies.  And he was equally effective.  The jury is still out, of course, but it appears that he achieved everything he hoped for at Davos.

As I have said before, love him or hate him. I believe any honest observer will agree that Trump is the man of the age, a giant among pygmies.  His enemies nip at his heels, making themselves look ridiculous in the process.

Speaking of ridiculous, I truly despair for the modern Democratic Party.  Who are its leaders? What do they stand for?  We need a strong opposition party, but the current Democrat notables offer us nothing but a repackaged brand of socialism that would lead the nation to destruction.
