BALANCING THE BOUNCING BALLS

The Trump administration is attempting to deal with a number of bouncing balls in both the domestic and international arenas  All of these situations are difficult to manage, and there is no guarantee of success.

Two of the international issues relate to Venezuela and Iran.

In Venezuela we managed to get rid of Maduro, but what happens next?  The country is in a mess.  People are hungry and angry. Who will run Venezuela now that Maduro is gone? With our help, can they transit to a stable regime and avoid economic and political chaos?

Many of the same concerns exist about Iran.  It appears that the hard-line Islamic government is on the verge of collapse.  If it falls, who will fill the void?  The nation has many problems, and rioters are in the streets. Iran could easily tip towards bloody revolution.

The United States must tread carefully as it deals with these situations.  I am very pleased that we have those whom I consider good and wise men such as Marco Rubio and Steve Witkoff in positions of power in our State Department.
