I am not a conspiracy theorist. I cannot imagine an evil cabal of high ranking federal officials working behind the scenes to overthrow our popular government. Therefore, despite growing evidence of their culpability, it is difficult for me to believe that Comey, Brennan and other Obama administration notables are anti-American, anti-democratic zealots. But why would these men engage in a subversive plot to prevent Donald Trump from becoming President and, when he won the Presidency, attempt to remove him from office? The answer may be that they honestly viewed Trump as a threat to the republic and believed any action to stop him was justified.

I am personally acquainted with a number of otherwise rational people who seem to regard Trump as the Devil incarnate. Their brains appear to be warped by a severe case of the Trump Derangement Syndrome. Perhaps this also explains the actions of the so-called legacy media and the thinking of members of Obama’s inner circle. If so, I believe they were wrong. They misunderstood and underestimated Trump, distrusted the verdict of the American electorate, and now suffer the consequences of their poor judgment and ill-conceived actions.
