Two Weeks

President Trump has said that within the next two weeks he will decide whether to end the Iranian nuclear threat by negotiating or by bombing. It’s obvious that he would prefer to negotiate, but any negotiated settlement must end with the total elimination of Iran’s nuclear program. Thus far, Iran has defiantly refused to indicate any willingness to consider such terms.

It is almost certain that the United States and Israel can virtually destroy Iran’s exising nuclear facilities, but what would be the aftermath? How effectively could Iran strike back via cyber warfare or other irregular warfare tactics? Would the Iranian people rise up and overthow the tyrants, or would Khomeni and his cohorts remain in charge? One thing is certain, Trump has no intention to involve us in a land war or have American troops occupy Iran. He wants no more “forever wars.”

It is a difficult decision. Let’s pray for the President’s wisdom and a good outcome.
