For years the Democrats have been on a sugar-high fueled by massive expenditures by the Federal government. Now, as the Trump admininistration threatens this source, the Democrats have collapsed into a state of hysteria. They predict the death of our republic. Heaven is falling! It’s like taking candy from a baby.

How foolish! For years the government has been spending money far in excess of its revenues, so we have been forced to borrow. Our total national debt has grown to 37 trillion dollars, and our yearly interest on that debt now exceeds our entire yearly expenses for national defense. Combine those expenditures with the massive outlays for Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, and there is little left for discretionary spending. Yet the Congress charges blindly along as if there were no tomorrow. The money keeps flowing out, and at some point the yearly interest on our national debt will exceed our annual revenues.

With the assistance of Elon Musk and his team, the Trump administration has begun to expose incredibly stupid spending programs and instances of terrible waste. Instead of applauding Musk and coordinating with Republicans in the vital effort to reduce our debt, Democratic party leaders are defending the indefensible and attacking the would-be cost-cutters.

When will these idiots come to their senses and fight for country rather than party?
