Trump has pardoned most January 6 protesters and commuted the prison sentences of others.

Some wish that Trump had been more selective in pardoning January 6 protesters. I feel certain that there were a few truly bad characters among those persons who assaulted Capitol police that day who should have served out their time in jail. However, I’m also convinced that over the past four years Biden’s justice department threw everything it could at anyTrump supporter identified as being in or near the Capitol that fateful day. It went at them with a vengeance and imposed many excessive and unfair sentences. Along with that, even before trial, they tried to humiliate and punish any alleged guilty party. In many cases, perhaps even most, the treatment of these people was an affront to the American system of justice. We’ve had enough.

Under these circumstances, Trump probably did the right thing.
