Devastation has been loosed on Florida’s gulf coast and on the residents of mountain towns in western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee.

In some areas of the southern Appalachians hurricane Helene dumped a foot or two of rain, filling mountain rivers and streams to overflowing, destroying roads, and flooding towns and cities.

My thoughts and best wishes go out to these people.  Liittle more than a month ago I was in this beautiful area enjoying a time of reunion and fellowship with my extended family.

I pray for a quick recovery.
