As the tide appears to shift toward the probable reelection of Donald Trump as President, many Democrats are expressing great alarm.  Some are saying that Trump will establish himself as a dictator, and it will be the end of the republic.  Others fear a wave of retribution and the possible internment of Trump’s enemies.

I was pleased to hear Trump deny all such intentions.  In a recent interview he said that his revenge against those who had unfairly prosecuted him would be his reelection followed by the success of his new administration. He strongly condemned the idea of America becoming a banana republic wherein the party in power prosecutes members of the losing party.  He said this practice must end.

I know that Trump haters won’t believe him, but I take him at his word.
