In the Old Testament Book of Micah there is a brief passage instructing man how to act. It reads, “Act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with your God.” That is very simple and straightforward; but one might ask, what is justly? Micah answered that question immediately prior to this instruction. He wrote, “He has showed you, O man, what is good.”
The Lord God showed us what is good through the Ten Commandments and the teachings of his prophets. And we, in this latter day, have the words of His beloved Son, the Lord Jesus, to guide us.
But what about those who have never encountered Jesus or the prophets? The Apostle Paul answered that question in the New Testament Book of Romans. He wrote: “What may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”
God writes certain eternal truths into the hearts of man.
If we seek Him we will find Him.
