National Public Radio (NPR) is an American non-profit media organization headquartered in Washington, DC. It serves as a national syndicator to a network of over 1,000 public radio stations in the United States. It differs from other non-profit membership media organizations in that it was established by an act of Congress and receives some of its funding from the government’s Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
Because of its government charter and partial public funding, it would seem that NPR would attempt to be straight middle-road in its news coverage. That is not true. I remember my surprise and disappointment in October 2020 when NPR chose to ignore the breaking news about Hunter Biden’s laptop. Based on recent insider reports, it is now clear that NPR management decided to do everything within its power to ensure Trump’s defeat in the 2020 election.
A recent canvas of employees in the NPR Washington headquarters revealed that 87 were registered Democrats, none Republican.
No wonder conservatives have stopped listening to NPR. When will Congress stop funding?
