Racism

I know very little about Vivek Ramaswamy, Repubican candidate for President. His chances of being the party’s nominee are virtually nil. Nevertheless, he appears to be articulate and intelligent, a rare combination among present day politicians.

Recently, in response to a black pastor’s challenge to Ramaswamy’s use of the term “reverse racism”, he gave a brilliant answer. After reviewing the nation’s troubled racial history, he said. ”The question is what do we do about it now”. He then spoke about it (the racial divide) getting small enough to “atrophy into irrelevance,” comparing the question (the current racial unrest) to an immune system reacting to the virus that’s no longer so powerful and starting to attack the body’s organs. “That’s what I see happening in the country,” he explained.

I believe Ramasway is absolutely correct. We were well on our way to improved racial relations, trending toward a virtually color-blind society, until the far left militants, aided and abetted by the Democratic Party leadership, began using charges of racism as a tool in their pursuit of power. Rather than combatting racism, they are creating racism; and, in the process, they are attacking the very fabric of our society.
