The war between Judeo-Christian traditionalists and radical anti-Christian progressives rages on. How will it end?
More evidence of the struggle was exposed when Mike Johnson was recently elected to be Speaker of the United States House of Representatives,
Horror of horrors, Johnson appeared to embody qualities that denizens of the left distrust and hate in their opponents. Various members of that group charge him as follows:
- He’s a self-righteous prig. He projects an appearance of good will, but behind that smiling façade lies a plan to impose his own twisted view of truth on America.
- Johnson claims he supports justice and condemns evil. That being so, how can he continue to voice his support for Donald Trump, a profane and godless man charged with a veritable litany of crimes?
- As an attorney for the extremist ADF organization, Johnson demonstrated his intolerance by litigating in opposition to LGBT interests.
- Available public records indicate that Johnson has no large savings or checking account. That alone is sufficient to indicate that the man is concealing something.
Grave charges indeed! It makes one tremble in fear for the republic.
In the short time that has elapsed since his election, the left has attacked Johnson with every available weapon. For example, they bring up his former friendship with reality TV performer Josh Duggar, later convicted as a pedophile. Thus far, however, they have not been able to deliver a mortal blow.
Perhaps it is too soon to be certain, but possibly the reason for the left’s failure is that Johnson is what he appears to be.
A good man.
But Johnson has his flaws. He is a sinner. He would be the first to admit that truth. But in today’s environment, in this cultural battle, Johnson is on the right side. If he should fall, others will take his place.
The war goes on.
