Trump the Narcissist

Some of Donald Trump’s former associates have turned against him and are not supporting his reelection efforts. One of the latest defectors is Jenna Ells, formerly one of Trump’s election lawyers. Ellis is now saying publicly she does not support the former president, calling him a “malignant narcissist” who cannot admit mistakes. On the other hand, she says “I have great love and respect for him personally.”

I have one question for Ellis and those who think like her. If Trump wins the Republican nomination in 2024, who will you support in the general election? As things stand now, Trump will be the Republican nominee. He is far ahead of anyone who has chosen to stand up against him. How can Ellis, a professing Christian, consider not voting for Trump in the next Presidential election?

Many Trump supporters I know are just like me. We are well aware of Trump’s personal shortcomings. We might even agree with Ellis that Trump is a narcissist. But compared to leaders of the opposition, Trump appears to be an angel of light.

Consider the following facts.

The Democrats back the LGBT community in its war on traditional Christian concepts regarding sex and family. Trump espouses the Christian view.

The Democrats insist on a woman’s right to choose an abortion until the very last moments of pregnancy, and they wish to codify that right in Federal law. Trump supports the Supreme Court decision to leave this matter to the states. Personally, he favors a ban on abortions after the fetus becomes viable (around 22 weeks).

In their ongoing war against global warming, Democrats are destroying the fossil fuel industry and wrecking the American economy. Trump wishes to restore American fuel independence, slow the race toward EVs, and defer any major action to combat global warming until the Chinese are willing or forced to cooperate.

The Democrats have abandoned any attempt to halt the flow of undocumented immigrants across our southern and northern borders. Indeed, they appear to promote it. This is leading to rampant drug and crime problems. While in office, Trump was very successful in putting a lid on illegal immigration. He promises to do it again.

Considering the above, what choice do we have? As things stand now, Trump will have my vote in 2024.
