(I wrote this article the day before Speaker McCarthy annouunced that he was opening an impeachment inquiry into the actvities of Joseph Biden.. I am pleased that he decided to go forward with this in the face of some differences of opinion in Republican ranks. The stonewalling actions of Attorney General Garland and other members of the Biden administration appear to have given McCarthy no other choice.)
I believe that the House of Representatives must move forward with an impeachment inquiry dircted against President Biden. Normally I would oppose such a move as an excercise in futility. It will be extremely difficult to get an impeacment vote out of the closely divided House, and we know that the Democrat controlled Senate is extremely unlikely to convict him. Why go that route?
The reason for my urging the inquiry is that the DOJ and other agencies of the Federal executive branch refuse to cooperate with House oversight committees as they investigate highly questionable activities by Joseph Biden and his minions. Even with their limited powers, these committees have uncovered strong evidence that the Biden family has received millions of dollars from corrupt and possibly state-connected operators in a number of foreign countries, including China and Russia. The House must switch to an impeachment inquiry mode to give them the tools they need to investigate these matters more fully despite the Biden administration’s efforts to obstruct.
I’m convinced that Biden is corrupt as well as incompotent, but I would prefer simply exposing him and rendering him powerless rather than throwing him out office. Kamala Harris waits in the wings.
I hope the Republican leaders in the House have the determination and the fortitude to push forward in these circumstances.
We’re waiting for you, Speaker McCarthy.
