Renewal

Since the beginning of this year I have posted very few articles. Prior to that I had been posting two to four articles every week. This blog was launched in July 2018, so that means that there are hundreds of articles now stored in this blog. An enterprising reader may access any of them. However, for the benefit of new readers, I have decided to repost a few of my favorites.

I had written articles about almost every subject under the sun, and I began to think that there was nothing new or useful I could contribute. However, some of my readers have indicated that they miss my posts; therefore , I will resume my posting activities on a more regular basis — perhaps one or two articles each week. That will include reposts as well as new items.

Today I will comment on the brevity of life and the rapid passage of time.

My father was born 150 years ago. Ulysses Grant was the President, and the United States had been in existence less than a century. Now, in the year of our Lord 2023, I too am approaching my own century mark. What wondrous changes my father and I experienced during these past 150 years. Who could have forseen it? Who would have believed it? And now we stand on the threshold of even greater changes, and who can rightly predict the things that are to come?

The future will hold moments of gladness and sadness for each of you. For the nation, there is the likelihood of turbulence and war. The norms of everyday life will change, and civilizations will shake.

Through it all, God abideth still.

Hold on to the rock of faith.
