II owe the following thoughts to Steven Hayward, a senior resident scholar at the Institute of Governmental Studies at UC Berkely,  Hayward contributes his observations to various conservative publications.

Hayward quoted a recent ABC newscast that reported “Protesters in California set fire to a courthouse, damaged a police station and assaulted officers after a peaceful demonstration intensified.”

“Peaceful demonstration intensified?”

Perhaps we should call the demonstration “intense peace.”
